Bangalore: A holiday has been declared in schools after the hijab controversy started in Karnataka. Regarding this, Karnataka CM Basavaraj Bommai has said that to maintain peace and order between the school premises and the students, a holiday has been declared in the schools. I urge all the people not to do anything that will disturb the peace in the school premises and the state. Because the matter is sub-judice in the court and hearing is going on every day.

He said that in such a situation it is our duty to create a peaceful environment so that justice can be given. Let us inform that due to the ongoing controversy regarding Hijab in Karnataka, now schools and colleges have been closed for 3 days. In view of the ongoing controversy, CM Basavaraj Bommai had said that, it has been decided to close the educational institutions for the next 3 days. Along with this, he has also requested all the students, teachers and school-college management to maintain peace.

At the same time, the Supreme Court has refused the demand for immediate transfer of the petitions related to the Hijab dispute from the Karnataka High Court to the Supreme Court. The top court said that why should we interfere at this stage. When the matter is already in the High Court. Along with this, the Supreme Court has also refused to give any date regarding this. Congress leader Kapil Sibal had filed a petition in the Supreme Court for this.
