Bangalore: Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah expressed optimism about the Congress party's prospects in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, urging party members to work together cohesively. Addressing a gathering of MLAs, district, and taluk level leaders in Belagavi district at Kaveri, Siddaramaiah highlighted the positive response received from surveys conducted in Belagavi, indicating strong support for the party's candidates across all three Lok Sabha constituencies, including those in Uttara Kannada and Belagavi districts.

He emphasized the success of the government's five guarantee schemes in alleviating the hardships faced by numerous families and women in Belgavi district. Siddaramaiah noted that survey results indicate substantial support from approximately 80% of women, favoring the Congress party. Encouraging door-to-door campaigning to amplify the government's welfare initiatives, the Chief Minister stressed the importance of reaching out to a wider audience. Minister Lakshmi Hebbalkar echoed Siddaramaiah's sentiments, affirming unity among party members in the electoral arena and expressing confidence in securing victory in both constituencies.

In Uttara Kannada Lok Sabha Constituency, Minister Hebbalkar acknowledged a desire for change among voters, citing dissatisfaction with the performance of previous MPs. The meeting also saw participation from Ministers Satish Jarakiholi, former minister Lakshman Savadi, MLAs, former MLAs, MLCs, and over 40 district leaders, who shared their perspectives on the upcoming elections. The Lok Sabha Elections 2024 are scheduled to be held in seven phases starting from April 19, with Karnataka voting in two phases on April 26 and May 7.
