BANGALORE: The government of Karnataka preparing a new Research and Development (R&D) policy, for which announcement would be made within a month, the state Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said on Monday.
The Chief Minister was addressing after the 102nd birth anniversary of renowned academician and Padmabhushan awardee Dr H Narasimhaiah, at the National College with the opening of a Robotics and Artificial Intelligence Lab, where he released Dr H Narasimhaiah's autobiography 'Path of Struggle' (Translated English edition).
"The proposed R&D programme will identify support research and innovation at the Garage level, and s give it a boost at major institutions. Individuals with creative ideas and a desire to learn more about a subject would be encouraged. National Educational Institutions would greatly benefit from the strategy "Bommai expressed his support for National College's science and research efforts.
He encouraged students to ask questions since it would aid in the development of logical thinking. "Children have the right to ask questions, and their curiosity serves as a catalyst for research," the Chief Minister said.
Notably, more than 180 Research development centres of both public and private sectors are in and around Bangalore. This is also a major reason for the growth of IT-BT sector in the state.
