Bangalore: The Karnataka government has started preparations amid fears of a third wave of corona epidemic. In view of this, the state government has ordered a ban on all processions till August 20 during Muharram and Ganesh Chaturthi on Thursday. In an order issued for Muharram, the state government has said that prayers in all mosques should be held under corona norms. On the other hand, people below 10 years of age and above 60 years should offer prayers at their homes.
The state government has said that all processions have been banned till August 20. Alam/Panja and Tazia can be seen from a distance by touching Bagore. It will be mandatory to wear masks in prayer rooms. Prayers in all mosques should be under corona rules. On the occasion of Muharram, mass prayer meetings will not be allowed in community halls, open grounds, wedding palaces, etc. At the same time, the State Government has imposed similar restrictions for Ganesh Chaturthi.
The government order said that no pandals, processions, and entertainment programs will be allowed for Ganesh Chaturthi. Ganesh idols should be immersed only at the designated place. The temples should be cleaned properly every day. Devotees should be allowed inside after using sanitizers and the temple administration will have to arrange thermal checks.
