BENGALURU: Karnataka Health Minister K. Sudhakar said on Monday that the government is considering how to accommodate students who have returned from the Ukraine's war-torn country.
Measures will be taken to guarantee that they are able to continue their education. "We're talking about lowering medical school fees," Sudhakar said in the Legislative Council.He described the death of Naveen Shekarappa Gyanagoudar, a state student, in Russian shelling in Kharkiv, Ukraine, as "unfortunate," adding that 22,000 students from the country were stranded in Ukraine. He stated that all of them had been safely returned.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi was in constant contact with officials in the country. Many countries have started on such a mission to get their students back from Ukraine, he said.
"Indian flags were utilised by students from neighbouring nations to find a way through. From the war-torn Ukraine, medical students have returned to India. Their schooling will be taken care of in the future "He said.
Meanwhile, Education Minister B.C. Nagesh informed the council that 4,317 teachers in the state had been fined Rs 51.26 lakh for improperly grading SSLC (Class 10) students' answer papers. During the Covid crisis, mistakes were made in terms of appraisal. He explained that those teachers who are found guilty will be admonished.
