Karnataka Health Minister hints at stringent action against returnees from UK

Bangalore: Health Minister of Karnataka Dr K Sudhakar has indicated to take action against those who have come to India from the United Kingdom who have not got the covid-19 test and have switched off their mobile phones. Sudhakar indicated on Monday that action can also be taken by the police against such people.

Minister Sudhakar said while talking to the media that, "I urge people returning from Britain to cooperate as responsible citizens." You have to do the covid-19 test. If you did not investigate and kept the mobile phone switched off then it would be a crime.” Health Minister K Sudhakar said that he would hold talks with Home Minister Basavaraj Bommai after the cabinet meeting.

On being asked whether the police would file a case, Sudhakar said, "I will discuss the subject with the Home Minister and further action will be decided." According to the minister, so far 1,614 people have tested the Corona Has done. The infection has been confirmed in 26 of them. Samples of infected people have been sent to labs. Their report will be forwarded to the Indian Council of Medical Research.
