BANGALORE: The Karnataka police have detained a man on charges of having unnatural sex with cows in Bangalore, police said on Monday.

The culprit is identified as Manjunath, the 34-year-old is a native of Gejjalagere village near Maddur town in Mandya district. On the basis of a report from his companion who caught him in the act, Chandra Layout Police detained him.
According to police, the accused had developed the habit of having unnatural sex with cows for which he would travel to Bangalore University Jnanabharathi campus from his village. He was accustomed to  take cows grazing in the fields of the campus to isolated locations, bushes and indulge in the crime.

Due to his sadistic mentality, Manjunath's family had disowned him. The jobless accused, then came to Bangalore and stayed at his friend's place.

The accused had unnatural sex while staying with Shashikumar, who kept cows at home. The accused also cut off the cows' tails. Shashikumar became suspicious and kept an eye on him, eventually catching him in the act.
The culprit was later brought to the police station. The offender has been taken into jail by the police after being charged under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act.
