Bangalore: Amid protests by Muslim girls over the hijab in Karnataka, the rioting mindset of fundamentalists has also started coming to the fore. In the same episode, a mob of Muslim fundamentalists dragged a young man out of his house and thrashed him with a knife after he slapped a WhatsApp status against the hijab in Malebennur town of Davangere district of the state on Wednesday.

According to the report, the name of the victim Hindu youth is Dilip Malagimanne. He runs a shop near Gigali circle of Malebennur city. On Wednesday, a mob of more than 300 Muslim rioters came to his shop and dragged him out of the store for supporting the hijab ban and brutally thrashed him with a knife. Meanwhile, when the police came forward to rescue the Hindu youth, the frenzied mob also assaulted the police officials. After the incident, the police have registered a case in this case and arrested some of the rioters. Police have imposed prohibitory orders in Harihar taluka, including Malebennur, till midnight on Friday.

 

Another similar incident also took place in Nallur village under the Davangere district. Naveen (25), a resident of Nallur village, had allegedly shared a social media post over the hijab dispute. A mob of fundamentalists attacked Naveen and his 60-year-old mother Sarojamma and ransacked their house. This incident of violence by fundamentalists has been recorded in the CCTV camera, in which it can be clearly seen how a mob of frenzied Muslims is moving towards Naveen's house with weapons.
