Ahmedabad: Border Security Force (BSF) has seized 11 Pakistani boats in the Creek area in Bhuj, Gujarat. On Wednesday, February 9, information was received about the infiltration of Pakistani fishing boats and fishermen in the common area Harami Nala. After which DIG BSF Bhuj immediately started a massive search operation in the area spread over 300 square kilometers.
GS Malik, IPS, IG BSF Gujarat Frontier reached Kutch from Gandhinagar in the early hours and is personally supervising the massive search operation. BSF has so far seized 11 Pakistani fishing boats and 03 groups of commandos have been sent by Airforce helicopters from three different directions where Pakistanis are hiding. It was told that the highly swampy area, mangroves and tidal water are posing a challenge to the soldiers, despite this the operation is in progress.
Recently, Pakistani Maritime Security Agency soldiers opened fire on a fishing boat in the Arabian Sea off Gujarat's offshore region, killing one of the crew members and injuring another. The Gujarat government had told the assembly in March 2021 that 345 fishermen from the state are imprisoned in the jails of neighboring Pakistan, out of which 248 fishermen have been caught in the last two years.
