On Saturday, the Karnataka government has ordered 3 lakh PPE kits for healthcare warriors treating patients infected with the coronavirus. It has ordered 2 lakh Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) kits from DHB Global and 1 lakh from other leading pharmaceuticals.

According to the state Department of Health regarding this matter, these PPE kits contain 10 products according to global standards, including face masks, eyeglasses for extra protection, nose and mouth to protect health professionals from any kind of spray. N95 masks for protection, surgical masks, gloves, cover all suits, shoe covers, disposable bags, plastic aprons, and protective equipment. Each product must have a certificate related to Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) or equivalent certification.

On the other hand, CSIR's Bangalore based lab has prepared a protective suite for medical workers in association with MAF Clothing Private Limited. The suit is made from polypropylene laminated multi-layered and non-woven fabric. This protective suite developed by CSIR-National Aerospace Laboratories (CSIR-NAL) protects all health workers engaged in treatment of Covid-19 patients from infection. It would be helpful CSIR-NAL has explored indigenous material and innovative manufacturing process to prepare the suit. CSIR-NAL and MAF Clothing Private Limited are aiming to develop a capacity to manufacture 30,000 suits daily in the next four weeks.
