Karnataka is a state in southwest India with Arabian Sea coastlines. The capital, Bengaluru, is a high-tech hub known for its shopping and nightlife. To the southwest, Mysore is home to lavish temples including Mysore Palace, the former seat of the region’s maharajas. Hampi, once the medieval Vijaya Nagar empire’s capital, contains ruins of Hindu temples, elephant stables, and a stone chariot. Popular places to travel in Karnataka are :

COORG:- Is Located amidst imposing mountains in Karnataka with a perpetually misty landscape, Coorg is a popular coffee-producing hill station. It is popular for its beautiful green hills and the streams cutting right through them. It also stands as a popular destination because of its culture and people. The Kodavas, a local clan specializing in martial arts, are especially notable for their keen hospitality. Coorg, officially known as Kodagu, is the most affluent hill station in Karnataka. It is well known for its breathtakingly exotic scenery and lush greenery. Forest-covered hills, spice, and coffee plantations only add to the landscape. The coffee plantations of Coorg are famous globally and attract many tourists. The remote and less popular waterfalls also make for beautiful photographs and lush natural beauty. These are some of the top reasons to plan a trip to Coorg.

BADAMI:-  Known as Vatapi, is an archaeological delight owing to its beautifully crafted sandstone cave temples, fortresses, and carvings. Located in the Bagalkot district in Karnataka, Badami is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites that constitute Aihole-Badami-Pattadakal and is the finest example of traditional temple architecture in India.  Once the royal capital of the Chalukyas, Badami is home to several examples of Dravidian architecture which have instances of both South and North Indian styles of architecture.

There are three Hindu Temples and one Jain Temple in Badami Caves. Rock climbing is a popular activity here for people looking for some adventure too. Built-in Dravidian and Nagara styles, the Galaganatha Temple in Badami is dedicated to Lord Shiva. The temple was constructed during the western Chalukyas dynasty and is revered as one of the most stunning Hindu shrines in the state, which is dedicated to Mahadev.

MYSORE is one of the most important places in the country regarding ancient reigns. It is replete with the history of its dazzling royal heritage, intricate architecture, its famed silk sarees, yoga, and sandalwood, to name just a few. Located in the foothills of the Chamundi Hills, Mysore is the third most populated city in Karnataka, and its rich heritage draws millions of tourists all year round. The highlight is the majestic Mysore Palace, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, which is a must-visit.

Mysore was one of the three largest Princely States in the erstwhile British Empire of India. To this day, the Mysore Palace stands tall as one of the most spectacular palaces in India. A very famous tourist spot that sees thousands of visitors milling in and around it every day, the Mysore Palace is a mesmerizing example of Indo-Saracenic architecture, every inch of the palace drips with opulence and intricate details, and every room that you visit stands out in terms of its elaborate architecture, beautiful paintings, rich colors, and stained-glass windows. Another popular element in Mysore is the Ashtanga School of Yoga. This draws visitors and practitioners from around the world to participate in this style of yoga that originated in Mysore.  

GOKARNA:- Is a Hindu pilgrimage town in Karnataka and a newly found hub for beach lovers and hippies. Situated on the coast of Karwar, every year Gokarna welcomes hordes of tourists from around the world in search of sanctity and relaxation. The out-of-town beaches like Kudle Beach and Om Beach are a different contrast to life inside the town.  Palm-clad beaches are dotted with foreign tourists in a majority and very few Indians are seen across. Gokarna is not very conventionally touristy. The beaches are meant for a slow, relaxed holiday and everything on the beach goes at the same relaxed pace. Full of coconut and palm trees, the ocean, and clean sands, Gokarna is a 'one of a kind' place in the country.

UDUPI:-  Is a coastal town in Karnataka, most famous for its vegetarian cuisine and South Indian restaurants all over the country. With beautifully carved ancient temples, laidback beaches, and unexplored forests, Udupi is also the place where the educational hub of Manipal is located. Situated 60 km from Mangalore, Udupi is famous for its temple culture and beautiful beaches. Surrounded by the Arabian Sea on one side and the Western Ghats on the other, a ride through this district will bring you the best of both worlds. Being a holy town, one of the most important attractions here is the Krishna Temple. Udupi is also known as Rajata Peetha and Shivalli locally.

JOG FALLS :-  The second-highest plunge waterfall in India, Jog Falls is a major tourist attraction in Karnataka and is the highest waterfall in the state. Second, to the Nohkalikai Falls of Meghalaya, Jog Falls drops about a huge 253 m  850 ft. in a single fall. However, due to the construction of Linganamakki Dam which is a hydroelectricity plant close by, the flow in the falls is hugely restricted before monsoons. So, it is best to go during the Monsoon season to see the falls in its full form. Jog Falls is a 2hrs drive from the main Shimoga city. Also known as Gerosappa Falls or the Joga Falls, this seasonal waterfall is broken into four segments - Raja, Roarer, Rocket, and Rani. They're named based on certain characteristics of the streams. Is one of the most visited destinations for tourists in Karnataka.

BANGALORE:- Is India's third-largest city. Bangalore is loved for its pleasant weather, beautiful parks, and many lakes here. Bangalore is renowned for its eateries, street food corners, quirky cafes, coffee roasters, and pubs dotting every corner of the city, serving cuisines from all over the world. Brunches, buffets, burgers, rooftop cafes, late-night eats - Bangalore has it all. Here, one can choose to take a long stroll through the beautiful Cubbon Park, shop in the many malls or street markets, or hop into one of the many acclaimed breweries for a cold and refreshing drink. There are a huge number of beautifully decorated parks in the city that are ideal for going on a morning stroll or a jog. One walk through the 300-acre Cubbon Park, or the botanical gardens of Lalbagh, and you'll know precisely why Bangalore is so famously called India's Garden City.
