Speculation intensified again to replace Chief Minister Yediyurappa, BJP in search of the leader

The controversy between the BJP and the RSS continues over the likely exit of Karnataka CM BS Yediyurappa. Efforts are being made to find a replacement keeping in view the sentiments of the Lingayat community. The BJP is looking for a leader who can not only keep everyone together but also maintain the fragile Lingayat-Vokkaliga caste equation in the state.

Several leaders from Karnataka, including at least two in the race for the top post, were seen meeting senior leaders in the capital Delhi. These include National (Organization) Secretary BL Santosh and some General Secretaries. In addition, several experts and RSS functionaries were also called for input by the national leadership on the possible and possible outcomes of the appointment.

The party is clear that the next CM should not only be able to handle senior leaders of the state unit like KS Eshwarappa, former Chief Minister Jagdish Shettar, and others with strong sides, but also the Congress-JD(S). Two years ago, new people who helped form the BJP government have been kept in the party's court and kept away. The party is conscious that any move by it in Karnataka could have an impact on the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. RSS in Karnataka has always been strong, the presence of its preachers, such as BL Santosh and Dattatreya Hosbale, takes the importance of the state to a different level.
