BENGALURU: Karnataka police detained a couple in Bangalore  on allegations of murdering a cousin who reportedly sexually abused the accused woman, authorities said on Friday.

Mohammad Ghouse (39) and Kauser a.k.a Heena (27), both residents of Rayadurga in the Ananthpur district of Andhra Pradesh, are the accused. On May 13, 2015, the couple killed Vajeer Pasha (35), a relative, in their home.

Mohammad, the accused, married Heena in 2012 and lived in Andhra Pradesh, according to authorities. He moved to Gajanananagar in Hegganahalli, Bengaluru, a few months later. He embroidered clothing at home with the help of his wife. He was a clothing supplier to garment firms.

Accused Mohammad lost money and had to borrow money from a moulvi. He fled to Andhra Pradesh after failing to repay the money. As money lenders came to his house to force Heena to repay the loan, deceased Wazir Pasha, who lived next door, came to her aid and assisted her in repaying the loan. Over time, Heena and Wazir developed a relationship and had an illicit affair. Heena's husband learned about it and returned to Bengaluru to warn his wife. Heena later kept her distance from Wazir.
