Patna: On the second day of swearing-in, Bihar Law Minister Kartik Kumar, who was embroiled in a warrant controversy over the kidnapping case, resigned late on Wednesday (August 31). He submitted his resignation to CM Nitish Kumar, accepting that he has sent his recommendation to Governor Fagu Chauhan. After this, CM Nitish Kumar has handed over the additional charge of the sugarcane industry department to Revenue and Land Reforms Minister Alok Kumar Mehta.

The department of Bihar Law Minister Kartik Kumar was changed on Wednesday itself. He was given the Sugarcane Industries Department. Simultaneously, Shamim Ahmed was made the new law minister of Bihar. It is noteworthy that since the cabinet expansion in Bihar, questions were being raised about the Law Minister. The opposition was quite an attacker on Nitish. Actually, Kartik Kumar had to surrender in court in a kidnapping case, but on the same day he reached Raj Bhavan and took oath as minister. He was absconding for 8 years in the eyes of the court. Kartik, who became a minister from Lalu quota, clarified the controversy. He had said that I have given everything in my affidavit.

On the other hand, CM Nitish Kumar had categorically denied being aware of the allegations against Kartik. It was said by the minister that on September 19, 2018, the police has given a closure report in this case. After all the investigation, the police admitted that he had nothing in this case. Let us tell you that the supporters of Bahubali leader Anant Singh know Kartik as 'Kartik Master'. After 2005, Kartik Master and Anant Singh came closer and after that their stature increased. In the MLC elections, Kartik Kumar defeated JDU candidate Valmiki Singh in Patna. Lalu Prasad himself had announced the name of Kartik as an MLC candidate. It is also discussed in the political streets that even while in jail, Anant made Kartik win.
