DMK chief M. Karunanidhi passed away in a city hospital after a prolonged illness. The 94-year-old leader admitted at Kaveri Hospital breathed his last night at six o'clock. According to a press release issued by the executive director of the hospital Dr Arvindan Selvaraj, told with great sadness that dear Kalanganar, M. Karunanidhi, died on August 7, 2018. Despite the best efforts of their team of doctors and nurses, he could not be saved. In the press note, they expressed deep condolences on the demise of one of the prominent leaders of India and share the sadness of the family members and the Tamilians settled around the world. A tumult of grief over the entire Tamilnadu was heard as they heard the news.
