Varanasi: PM Narendra Modi has formally inaugurated the Kashi Tamil Sangamam by pressing the remote. During this, PM Modi also addressed the people present there. PM Modi started his address by saying Har Har Mahadev, Vanakkam Kashi and Vanakkam Tamil Nadu. PM Modi congratulated the UP Government, Tamil Nadu Government, Banaras Hindu University (BHU), IIT Madras and the Union Ministry of Education for this grand event.
PM Modi said that Sangams have been very important in our country. We all have celebrated the confluence of rivers and streams to the confluence of ideas-ideologies, knowledge-science, and societies-cultures. That's why Kashi Tamil Sangamam is special in itself, and unique. On the one hand, we have Kashi, our cultural capital that covers the whole of India, and on the other hand, the center of India's antiquity and pride, our Tamil Nadu and Tamil culture. This Sangam is also as holy as Ganga-Yamuna. Both Kashi and Tamil Nadu are Shivamaya, both are Shaktimaya. One is Kashi in itself, then there is Dakshin Kashi in Tamil Nadu. In the form of Kashi-Kanchi, both have their own importance in the Saptapuris.
The Prime Minister has said that both Kashi and Tamil Nadu are sources of music, literature, and art. If Banarasi sarees are found in Kashi, the silk of Kanchipuram is famous all over the world. Tamil Nadu is the holy land of Saint Thiruvalluvar. Both places are centers of energy and knowledge. Even today, the Kashi Yatra is mentioned in the Tamil wedding tradition. It reflects the love in the hearts of the people of Tamil Nadu towards the imperishable Kashi. This is the concept of Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat, which has been continuing since ancient times till now.
He further said that after the independence of the country, we had to strengthen the tradition and this heritage of thousands of years, to tie this country in the thread of unity, but unfortunately not enough efforts were made for this. Kasi Tamil Sangamam will become a platform for this resolution and provide energy to strengthen national integration.
