The Vaishali colony resident Rajkumar and his family members work in the Gandhi Ashram at Pachhwala village of Kundeshwari. Rajkumar's wife Phoolwati, son Sitaram, daughter-in-law Savita and elder daughter Poonam Gandhi live in a house built in the ashram. Rajkumar and his younger daughter Alka were at home on Wednesday night.

Due to this, some criminals along with tools and weapons entered his house at around 12 in the night. The criminals injected Rajkumar with a toxic substance, and tied his hands and feet with a rope and put him down in the room. Subsequently, the criminals knocked on the door of the room. When Alka opened the door, the criminals also made her unconscious. After that, the miscreants stole Rs 1.20 lakh, 4 silver ornaments, gold jewellery and the phone kept in the house. The culprits ran away and threw flammable substances on both their faces. The case is now being investigated.
