Srinagar - Following the conclusion of the G20 global event, all preparations are now in place for the grand 71st Miss World 2023 competition, set to take place in Kashmir. Over 140 countries are expected to participate in this year's pageant.

A press conference was held at the SKICC in Srinagar, where notable figures including Miss World Karolina Bielawska, Miss India Sini Shetty, Miss World Caribbean Emmy Pena, Miss Caribbean, and Miss England were in attendance.

Miss World Karolina Bielawska, addressing the media, expressed her enthusiasm for hosting the Miss World event in the stunning Kashmir Valley. She emphasized that Kashmir's allure and charm make it an ideal location for such a prestigious occasion. She praised the warm hospitality they've received during their visit and eagerly looked forward to the participation of 140 countries.

Reflecting on the diverse beauty of different states and countries, Bielawska noted the overwhelming hospitality of Kashmir. Miss India Sini Shetty celebrated the pride of hosting Miss World 2023 in Kashmir, comparing the event's significance to Diwali, where 140 countries unite as a global family.

Miss England shared her delight in exploring Kashmir and praised the exceptional hospitality of the region. Miss World and other pageant winners, including Miss World India Sini Shetty and Miss World Caribbean Emmy Pena, embarked on a day-long visit to Kashmir, enjoying breakfast alongside dignitaries at a prestigious hotel.

For their tour, Bielawska and Shetty were accompanied by Miss World America Shree Saini and Julia Morley, the Chairperson and CEO of the Miss World Organization. Notable figures like Rouble Nagi of the Rouble Nagi Art Foundation and Jamil Saidi, Chairman of PME Entertainment in India, also attended the breakfast gathering.

India, a six-time winner of the Miss World title, is hosting the pageant after almost three decades, marking a significant occasion. The last time the country hosted the event was in 1996.

Bielawska's visit to Jammu and Kashmir is a historic moment as the first international beauty pageant winner to explore the region. This visit precedes the 71st edition of the Miss World 2023 pageant, scheduled to take place in India later this year.

In a noteworthy development for Jammu and Kashmir's tourism industry, a group of global beauty divas visited Kashmir, enhancing MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) tourism. The visit was organized by the Tourism Department in collaboration with the Rouble Nagi Art Foundation.

This celebrity visit is expected to bolster MICE tourism in the region, building on the momentum created by the successful hosting of the 3rd Working Group meeting of G20 countries in May of the same year. The spokesperson highlighted the positive impact of the G20 meeting on local tourism, attracting foreign travelers and elevating the region's profile.

Jamil Saidi, Chairman of PME, praised Kashmir as India's crowning jewel, emphasizing its unity in diversity. He expressed gratitude to Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha and the Tourism Department for their gracious hospitality and organization.
