Jammu: By March 2022, the first cable rail bridge on the Katra-Banihal railway track, an ambitious project of the Indian Railways, will be ready. Work has been completed in two parts of this. Work on the last part will start soon. It will be the first cable rail bridge in India, with a length of 473.25 meters. Through this bridge, a train can run from Katra to Srinagar.

Most people would have seen the Laxman swing on the cable, but now the train will run by laying railway tracks on the bridge that is stuck on a similar cable. This bridge is also very important from a strategic point of view. This will give a boost to tourism along with the development of Jammu and Kashmir. This bridge is being constructed over the Chenab River.

According to railway officials, this bridge from the hills will be 331 meters higher than the river bottom. Its length will be 473.25 meters. This bridge will be 4 times higher than Qutub Minar in Delhi. Railway engineers will create a network of 96 cables to support this unique bridge. Railway says that it will be a sample of excellent engineering. This bridge will not move even in strong winds and dangerous storms. Where the Anji Bridge is being built, the hill of the place is raw. A high pillar is being built for the bridge, on which the cable will be tied on both sides. Then the railway track will be made by laying the deck. And this bridge will be completed in a few moments.
