KCR, Naidu to attend Mulayam Singh Yadav's last rites

HYDERABAD: Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) and Andhra Pradesh Ex-Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu will attend the last rites of Samajwadi Party founder Mulayam Singh Yadav later in the day.

Chandrasekhar Rao, the chief minister of Telangana, and the head of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS), left for Saifai, Mulayam's native village in Etawah district of Uttar Pradesh.

KCR will pay tributes and respects to the mortal remains of Mulayam Singh Yadav. Later, he will participate in the funeral rites.

Chandrababu Naidu, a former chief minister of Andhra Pradesh and the national leader of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), also left for Uttar Pradesh to be present for Yadav's funeral ceremonies.

KCR highlighted in his message of condolence that Mulayam Singh Yadav, a secularist, was inspired to enter politics by great figures like renowned socialist leaders Ram Manohar Lohia and renowned liberation warrior Raj Narayan.
Mulayam, who served as the largest state's chief minister for three terms as well as a union minister, worked tirelessly for the welfare of the underprivileged throughout his life, KCR  said.

Chandrababu Naidu said, he lost a close sibling. The TDP leader noted, "Over the past four decades, I have had the good privilege of spending a lot of time with the OBC veteran who always impressed me with his charm, humility, and profound understanding of Indian politics.

"A remarkable gentleman, he was kind and discreetly went about attaining his socialist aims that altered the lives of millions," Naidu said. "He became a greatly loved mass leader on the road.
