KCR speaks to Opp leaders ahead of Monsoon session

Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao has ramped up his efforts to up the ante against the ruling BJP ahead of the start of the Parliament's Monsoon Session and spoke to many Opposition leaders on Friday.

KCR has spoken with several chief ministers, including Mamata Banerjee of West Bengal, Arvind Kejriwal of Delhi, MK Stalin of Tamil Nadu, and Tejashwi Yadav of the RJD and Sharad Pawar of the NCP, source said."A few Opposition leaders responded favourably to CM KCR's attitude against the Centre."

On July 18, the Parliament's Monsoon Session is scheduled to begin.  In the meantime, ahead of the Monsoon session of Congress beginning on July 18, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla has convened a meeting of party floor leaders in the House for this coming Saturday. The discussion will include strategies for ensuring that the monsoon session runs smoothly and efficiently. The issues that the opposition parties want to bring up in the House are probably going to come up.

Among the politicians expected to attend the conference are Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, Sudip Bandyopadhyay of the Trinamool Congress, Midhun Reddy of the YSRCP, TR Baalu of the DMK, Supriya Sule of the NCP, Asaduddin Owaisi of the AIMIM, and Anupriya Patel of the Apna Dal.

Among the officials likely to represent the government at the meeting are Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Arjun Ram Meghwal, and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi.

The election of the President and Vice President will be taken place during the monsoon session, making it important.  The Presidential election is slated July 18 and the counting of votes will take place on July 21. The Vice Presidential election is slated for August 6 and the results will be declared on the same day.
