Kedarnath: In a recent visit to Kedarnath, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi was seen serving tea to devotees during his three-day trip to Uttarakhand. Rahul arrived at the sacred site in a private helicopter and was warmly welcomed by the temple's priests and Congress workers. The visit is part of his extended Bharat Jodo Yatra, which has also taken him to the Golden Temple in Amritsar and on the Kailash Yatra pilgrimage.

Videos from early Monday morning captured Rahul Gandhi interacting with devotees and personally serving them tea. Devotees had gathered in large numbers, and Rahul's gesture was widely appreciated. The Congress party shared images of the event on social media, emphasizing his service to devotees.

Notably, the visit to Kedarnath holds religious significance as the temple is located at an altitude of 3,584 meters in Uttarakhand and is part of the Char Dhams and Panch Kedar pilgrimage circuit. It is one of the 12 Jyotirlingas dedicated to Lord Shiva in India.

However, Rahul's visit did not go without political commentary. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) seized the opportunity to take a dig at the Congress leader's trip to Kedarnath. Manveer Singh Chauhan, the BJP's state media in-charge, expressed hope that Rahul Gandhi's visit would bring wisdom and encourage Congress leaders to adopt anti-corruption policies in the national interest. Chauhan suggested that Rahul's expressions of love for Sanatan Dharma were timed for political gains before the upcoming elections.

Responding to the BJP's comments, state Congress vice-president Mathura Dutt Joshi defended Rahul Gandhi's visit and suggested that it was the BJP in need of wisdom. He argued that the BJP often portrayed leaders from opposition parties as corrupt, while those joining their party were seemingly cleansed of any wrongdoing. Joshi likened this to a "washing machine" that absolved corrupt leaders when they joined the BJP.

Rahul Gandhi's visit to Kedarnath has not only showcased his spiritual side but also become a subject of political discourse, reflecting the ongoing dynamics in Indian politics.
