New Delhi: In the wake of an increase in COVID-19 cases, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal announced the implementation of the Graded Response Action Plan's Level-I (Yellow alert) in New Delhi on Tuesday, December 28. The  Delhi government will issue a formal order outlining the limits that will be applied soon.

Following a review meeting in New Delhi on the COVID situation, Arvind Kejriwal said, "Corona cases have been increasing for a few days, but patient symptoms are mild; there is no need to panic; GRAP was made a few days ago so that it could be determined scientifically that if this level of corona exists, the situation will be resolved. The yellow level will apply if the infection rate is greater than 0.5 percent, according to the report." "Detail orders on the limits that have been imposed will be issued," he said.

On Monday, the New Delhi recorded 331 new COVID-19 cases, the largest single-day increase in over six months. On June 6, 331 cases were reported in the national capital. The Delhi government authorised GRAP at a meeting of the Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) on July 9, 2021.
