NEW DELHI: Arvind Kejriwal, the AAP convener and Delhi Chief Minister, criticised Gujarat BJP Chief Amit Shah's statement in which Shah advised people not to be carried away by free services supplied by political parties. On Thursday, the BJP chief made the assertion in Surat.
The BJP president warned people not to be swayed by free services while inaugurating the South Gujarat Medical Education and Research Institute in Surat. "Freebies are bad for the economy and can ruin the state," he stated.
Arvind Kejriwal, the head of the AAP, responded to this assertion by tweeting, "Your ministers are getting free electricity, Patil Sir, and that is fine. You have an issue if I give citizens free electricity." "If you can abolish corruption, as the AAP administration did in Punjab and Delhi, the government would save tremendous amounts of money, which can be used to deliver free electricity to citizens," he continued on Twitter. The AAP, which is gaining traction in Gujarat, has made the BJP a frequent target. In the Surat Municipal Corporation elections, Kejriwal's party won 27 seats. Patil had previously described the AAP's victory as a "black stain."
Recently, the AAP and the Bharatiya Tribal Party decided to run together in the assembly elections. Despite the fact that AAP does not have a large network, the BJP is wary of it and has determined to destroy its image before it becomes a serious challenge to the ruling party, according to sources.
According to a source, the counter-attack on each other is a win-win situation for both parties because it keeps both parties in the press, and Congress is nowhere in the state election campaign and will be forgotten if this continues.
