Alappuzha: A 151-year-old church in Alappuzha, Kerala, collapsed due to floods. However, no casualties have been reported in this incident. The local people were already sent to safe places by the officers. But this church is completely ruined due to floods.

Officers told about that a dam that blocked the water broke on Tuesday. Due to this, St., Paul CSI Church located at Changam Kuruveli Padashekram collapsed. This church was built between 2 paddy fields. For this reason, water reached this church easily. There are many ancient religious places associated with Christianity in Kerala. These shrines are more than a century old. St. Thomas, a preacher of Christianity, came to Kerala in 58 CE. By this time, Christianity had not reached most of the countries of the West.

Thr water level in Mullaperiyar Dam of Idukki District of Kerala has reached 136.85 feet on Tuesday. Nothing is visible in the entire area except water. Water has entered the houses.
