Kochi: The Congress has again suffered a setback ahead of the assembly elections in Kerala. State Congress Committee Vice President KC Rosakutty has resigned from the party. Earlier, veteran Congress leader PC Chacko resigned from the party. Kerala is scheduled to vote on April 6, while the results will come on May 2.

Talking to the media, KC Rosakutty said that she was troubled by the ongoing factionalism in the party, after which she decided to quit the Congress. However, he discussed it several times before, after which the move was taken. Earlier, PC Chacko had also talked about factionalism in the party. PC Chacko has been the leader of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP). PC Chacko had said that the Congress in Kerala had been divided into two parties, even in ticket delivery, decisions were not taken properly. That is why he decided to quit the party.

In Kerala, Congress has been reeling under a series of setbacks. Besides PC Chacko, Vijayan Thomas also resigned from the party. At the same time, several Congress leaders from the Wayanad district had resigned in the past.
