Kerala Governor Arif Mohammed Khan made severe allegations against Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, accusing him of orchestrating a plot to physically harm him. The claims arose following an incident where Governor Khan's vehicle was purportedly targeted by individuals linked to the Students Federation of India (SFI), the student wing of the ruling CPI(M).

The incident occurred as the governor was en route to Thiruvananthapuram International Airport to depart for New Delhi, sparking a political uproar in the state.

Addressing the media, Governor Khan asserted a deliberate attempt to cause him harm, hinting at Chief Minister Vijayan's involvement. He emphasized that the occurrence wasn't accidental but a premeditated act aimed directly at him.

He questioned the feasibility of protesters approaching the Chief Minister's convoy during an ongoing program and highlighted the apparent intervention by the police, alleging that they directed the protesters' vehicles towards his car.

"Clearly, it is the Chief Minister who is plotting and dispatching these individuals to physically harm me. Thiruvananthapuram's roads are now controlled by thugs," Governor Khan expressed firmly.

Expressing his anger over the alleged attack, Governor Khan condemned the incident and lamented the declining state of democracy in Kerala. He stressed the importance of resolving political disagreements without resorting to physical violence.

Governor Khan also claimed that the protesting students not only waved black flags but also struck his vehicle on both sides. He raised concerns about the police's alleged knowledge of the incident and questioned their inaction, implying direction from the Chief Minister's office.

According to the police, SFI activists obstructed Governor Khan's vehicle at a specific location. Subsequently, seven members of the student organization have been arrested in connection to the incident.
