Kochi: The Kerala High Court has ordered police not to arrest Malayalam actor Dileep until January 27 in connection with a case filed by the Kerala Police Crime Branch against him for allegedly threatening the investigation officials probing the 2017 Actress Assault Case.
The court directed that the accused, including Dileep, report to the investigation officer from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on January 23, 24, and 25. Also, the court stated that they shall be available for interrogation and any other necessary investigation.The court entered this interim order in response to Dileep's anticipatory plea. This matter will be reconsidered by the court on January 27.
Single bench of Justice, P Gopinath stated that "Attempts to obstruct the investigation will result in bail being denied. I am extremely serious about this and any violation will be taken seriously. Make no attempt to accomplish anything that is superfluous. Do not even consider it. Petitioner shall cooperate fully with the investigation. The Senior Public Prosecutor shall place any investigation material in a sealed cover."
On January 9, the Kerala Police's Crime Branch filed a new case against film actor Dileep and five others for allegedly threatening investigating officials.
