Kerala- Cochin: On Sunday, the Kochi Kerala Police Crime Branch filed a new complaint against Malayalam film star Dileep and five others for allegedly intimidating investigation officers in the actor attack case.

They were charged under sections 116 (abetment of an offence punishable by imprisonment), 118 (concealing a design to commit an offence punishable by death or life imprisonment), 120B (part of a criminal conspiracy), 506 (criminal intimidation), and 34 of the Indian Penal Code (criminal act done by several people).

In the FIR, Dileep is listed as the first accused. The second and third accused are Dileep's brother Anoop and Dileep's brother-in-law Suraj. Appu and Babu Chengamanad are the other suspects, while one remains unidentified. The complaint was filed after audio clips of Dileep and others reportedly threatening officials probing the actress attack case, in which Dileep is also a defendant, surfaced.

Balachandra Kumar, who claims to be Dileep's friend, has claimed that Dileep obtained video footage of the actress's attack and sought to sway witnesses in the case, according to the police.
