Thiruvananthapuram: Over fifty people have been reported missing in the horrific landslide in Idukki district of Kerala, a massive search operation is being carried out on Saturday with the help of people and equipment to search for them. 3 bodies were removed yesterday. So far 21 people have lost their lives in this tragedy in Rajamalai on Thursday mid-night, while more than twelve people have been rescued who are undergoing treatment at separate hospitals in Idukki, Kottayam and Ernakulam District.

According to the information, this incident occurred at a distance of about three km from the popular tourist destination of Munnar when big stones fell on the four lines of the estate house. The current electricity minister MM Mani, who belongs to this district, said that the state government will do everything possible to help the victims. Mani said that the tea company will have to find the exact figures of the missing persons, because if these are residential lines, then the local village council will also have to work with them. The possibility of someone being buried in the debris is now being reduced.

This search operation is being carried out with a large figure of NDRF, Kerala Police, Fire Force, local people and volunteer personnel. While the state government has announced a grant of Rs 5 lakh to the families of those who died, PM Narendra Modi has also announced to give Rs 2 lakh each.
