Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala's state health department reported 41,668 new cases of COVID-19 in the last 24 hours on Friday. 95,218 samples were examined in the last 24 hours.With this, the state's overall number of illness cases has risen to 55,52,512.
17,053 persons have recovered from the infection in the last 24 hours, bringing the overall number of recoveries in the state to 52,76,647. In the previous 24 hours, 1,139 people have been admitted to hospitals, bringing the total number of patients admitted to hospitals to 7,772.
In the last 24 hours, 33 people have died as a result of the deadly illness. In addition, 73 deaths that occurred before June 2021 but were not initially included in the official death toll were categorised as COVID-19. This was done after obtaining the Center's updated directives.
The current mortality toll in the state owing to the disease is 51,607.In the state, there are now 2,23,548 active COVID-19 cases.
