Since the start of the immunization drive for them, almost 4 crore adolescents aged 15 to 18 have received their first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine.

According to the Co-WIN webpage, 4, 00, 67,315 adolescents in this age range have been vaccinated against Covid-19 thus far. However, a total of 4, 13, 91,852 people have used the portal to register for the first dose of immunizations.

"In just 19 days, over 4 crore young people aged 15 to 18 were vaccinated against COVID-19. In a tweet on Friday, Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya stated, "Young India is greatly helping to further strengthening the nation's fight against the epidemic." As the number of cases of Covid-19 increased in India, a statewide vaccination campaign targeting teenagers aged 15 to 18 years old began on January 3.

Around 7.50 crore teenagers in this age group, according to estimates, need to be vaccinated. So far, more than 4 crore people have been vaccinated. Only Bharat Biotech's indigenously produced 'Covaxin' is now available for vaccination of this age group.

So far, 69,48,753 precaution doses have been provided across the country. According to health ministry data as of Friday morning, healthcare workers had received 24,43,673 precaution doses, while frontline workers had received 22,78,810 precaution doses.
