Kochi: Police have arrested a suspect linked to the Lashkar-e-Taiba outfit. According to a report, top police officials are questioning him at the guest house of the police chief. The Malayalam news channel released a video on Saturday. According to this, the police has taken the suspect from the district court premises for questioning. Police have not given any information on their part in this regard. The Indian Navy has also been put on high alert.

The lawyer of the man said that he was a resident of Kondungular in Thitchu. He has already returned from Bahrain two days ago. On Saturday, the man and a woman were apprehended by the police in the court premises. The person wanted to prove his innocence before the investigating agencies. Since it was reported two days ago that six Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists have infiltrated into Tamil Nadu from Sri Lanka by sea and their targets are several cities in the State.

The suspect's lawyer said the man reached the court with his help on Saturday morning. He was claiming that he had no involvement in the infiltration of terrorists into the country. He is being framed. According to the lawyer, the person said that his ID proof was misused. The Navy has also declared a high alert in the seas and coastal areas following the infiltration of six Lashkar-e-Taiba militants in Tamil Nadu on Friday.
