The first official trailer for Martin Scorsese's new film Killers of the Flower Moon is now available. The cast of the period drama includes Leonardo DiCaprio, Robert De Niro, Jesse Plemons, Lily Gladstone, John Lithgow, and Brendan Fraser. 

The description of Killers of the Flower Moon says, “At the turn of the 20th century, oil brought a fortune to the Osage Nation, who became some of the richest people in the world overnight. The wealth of these Native Americans immediately attracted white interlopers, who manipulated, extorted, and stole as much Osage money as they could before resorting to murder.”

 At the core of the epic western criminal drama is a romance between Leonardo and Lily's characters. While Leonardo is a white man who asks Lily what colour her skin is at the beginning of the film, Lily, who portrays a Native American, says, "My colour." The trailer's telling opening sequence sets the tone for a deep period drama with themes of racial politics, history, romance, revolt, and treachery.

Martin and Eric Roth co-wrote the script for Killers of the Flower Moon, which is based on David Grann's 2017 best-selling novel. The film will be released in theatres in the United States on October 20, followed by a wider release on Apple TV+ later that month. Martin's first film with Leonardo was Gangs of New York (2002), a historical drama co-starring Daniel Day-Lewis and Cameron Diaz. They then worked again on The Aviator (2004), another historical piece starring Cate Blanchett. The Departed (2006), a crime thriller starring Matt Damon, Jack Nicholson, and Mark Wahlberg, was their next collaboration. Shutter Island (2010) starred Mark Ruffalo and Ben Kingsley. The Wolf of Wall Street (2013), a black comic criminal film starring Margot Robbie and Jonah Hill, was their most recent release.
