New Delhi: In the first two matches of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, KL Rahul got a chance as an opener in India's playing XI. His inclusion in the playing XI was badly debated. KL Rahul scored a total of 38 runs in 3 innings against Australia, in which the highest score was 20 runs. In such a situation, questions arose that he was given a chance in place of Shubman Gill, but he failed to capitalize on it, so he should be dropped. At the same time, in the team selection held on Sunday (February 19), the vice-captaincy was also withdrawn from KL Rahul. In such a situation, veteran Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh has said that now it will be easy to send Rahul out.

In fact, speculations are rife that KL Rahul has been sacked as Rohit Sharma's deputy after a poor performance, leaving the way open for Shubman Gill as well. Talking about this, Harbhajan Singh has said that Shubman Gill will open the innings with captain Rohit in the next Test match starting from March 1 in Indore. Let us tell you that, Shubman Gill's recent form has been excellent and he has also played brilliant innings in the last few Test matches. This is the reason why everyone is advocating giving Shubman Gill a chance in the last two matches.

Harbhajan Singh has said, ''Look, I think Rahul will be dropped because when you are not the vice-captain, it becomes easier for the management and the selectors to drop you. Once you become the vice-captain, it doesn't matter how you perform, you will still be in the playing XI, but that 'VC' tag is gone."
