Mumbai: The INS Karanj submarine, known as Silent Killer, joined the Indian Navy's combat fleet today. This submarine has the capability of destroying the enemy without penetrating its territory. INS Karanja was inducted into the battleship as part of the military tradition of the Indian Navy's Western Command headquarters in Mumbai. INS Karanj has been built by Mazagaon Dockyard (MDL) with the help of France.

Earlier, INS Kalvari and INS Khanderi of the Scorpene class have also joined the Indian Navy. While the rest of the fourth submarine sea trials are going on. The fifth submarine Vagir has also been launched in the sea. As the threat to the security of the Indian frontiers is increasing, so now the preparations for making this security system impenetrable, monolithic are also being done on a war footing.

INS Karanj is the third submarine of Kalvari class. This submarine is 221 feet long, 40 feet high, depth of 19 feet, weighing 1565 tons. The machinery has been set up in such a way that it has approximately 11 km long pipe fittings. About 60 kilometers of cable fittings have been made. The submarine made of special steel has high tensile strength, which has the ability to work in deeper depths of water.
