Different arguments of people have come out on these, in this, someone is seen supporting generic medicines, then someone shares things against it.

In the midst of this debate, today we tell you what is the difference between branded and generic medicines? At the same time, you will know what is the reason why generic medicines are so cheap...

What are branded and generic medicines?: Simply put, there are 2 types of medicines available in the market. Before explaining the difference between these two, let's tell you how medicines are made. Actually, there is a formula in which the medicine is formed by mixing different chemicals. For example, the medicine is made from a substance that is also used to cure pain. When this medicine is made by a big drug company, it is called a branded medicine. By the way, it is only the name of the company, while it is made from other substances, which you will be able to see on the wrapper of the drug above the company's name.

At the same time, when a small company makes medicines by mixing the same substances, then in the market, it is also called generic medicines. There is no difference between these two medicines, just get to see the difference of name and brand. For example, suppose you are buying a small company's goods, but the formula for making the medicine is the same, so there is no difference in the quality of the medicine. At the same time, it starts to be formed after the patents of the branded companies expire.

Arushi Jain, executive director of Stehappy Pharmacy, says, "Medicines are made from salts and molecules. So, always pay attention to its salt while buying medicines and not on any company, medicines are being sold in its name," Aarushi said, adding, "Generic medicines are those which are being sold under a generic name. The only big difference between generic and branded drugs is the marketing strategies used to create images and increase sales. Over the years, the drug industry, drug manufacturers have created an image of branded drugs as a better alternative to generic drugs."

Why are generic medicines cheaper?: The reason why generic medicines are cheap is that it is not going to be of any big brand, so not much money is spent on marketing these medicines, etc. At the same time, there is a substantial cost on research, development, marketing, promotion and branding. However, generic medicines are also developed using their formulas and salts after the expiry of the developers' patents. At the same time, this direct manufacturing is done, because its trials have already been carried out. In this, companies have a formula and medicines are made from these formulas.
