National Science Day is being celebrated today. Every year, national science is celebrated in India on February 28. On this day, the famous Indian scientist CV Raman also announced the Raman effect. For this, he was also awarded the Nobel Prize in the year 1930. After which, from the year  1986, every year, the day of 28th February was celebrated as National Science Day by CV Raman to discover the Raman Effect. The theme of this year is The Future of STIs: Impact on Education, Skills and Work.

Purpose of celebrating National Science Day- The first National Science Day was celebrated on February 28, 1987. The objective behind celebrating this day is to increase the interest in science among the people and to increase the awareness in the society even more. On this day, the National Council for Science and Technology and the Ministry of Science and Technology across the country also organize several programmes. Not only this, the Government of India honours scientists for their commendable work. At the same time, the youth and students should come forward in the field of science, for this, plans are also announced.
