World Theatre Day History: From the point of view of entertainment, World Theatre Day has its own place all over the world. On March 27 each year, World Theatre Day is celebrated. In 1961, the International Theatre Institute set the foundation of celebrating World Theatre Day on March 27 to give theatre its distinct identity all over the world. On this day, in many countries of the world, artists associated with theatre at the national and international level organize different festivals.

A conference is going to be organized by the International Theatre Institute (ITI) every year to celebrate World Theatre Day. In which a theatre artist from all over the world is selected, who on the day of World Theatre Day, a special message is presented to everyone. After which this message is translated into more than 50 languages and published in news newspapers around the world.

Why is World Theatre Day celebrated?: The purpose of World Theatre Day is to inform the society and people of the whole world about the culture of theatre, to explain the importance of theatre ideas, to create interest in people towards theatre culture and to honour those associated with it. Some other purpose with which to celebrate the World Theater Date is these. For example, promoting theatre all over the world, making people aware of the needs and imports of theatre, enjoying theatre and sharing the joy of this theatre with others, etc.
