Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) defeated Mumbai Indians comprehensively by 34 runs at the Eden Gardens on Monday. With this win, Kolkata became the 3rd team in the history of the Indian Premier League to complete 100 wins in T20s. The Kolkata outfit joined Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings in an elite list of T20 sides to have achieved a century of victories.
The match saw two blistering knocks from Andre Russell and Hardik Pandya. Both the players were in murderous form for their teams as they smashed the bowlers all over the park. While Russell struck 80 off 40 balls, Pandya went on to better him as he hit a sensational 91 runs off 34 balls. This victory made Mumbai Indians to join the list of team with 100 wins in T20s.

Talking about match, Batting first, KKR got off to a flyer with openers Shubman Gill and Chris Lynn taking on the MI bowlers right from the first delivery of the game. The duo added 96 runs for the opening wicket with half-centuries apiece. While Lynn scored a quickfire 54 off 29 balls, Shubman stole the show with some exquisite batting as he notched up 76 runs off 45 balls. After Lynn's departure, Russell came and slammed 80 runs off just 40 balls with the help of six boundaries and eight sixes. He absolutely tormented the MI bowling line-up as KKR posted 232/2 runs on the board in 20 overs - the highest score so far this season. From Mumbai’s side Hardik smashed senastional 91 but his efforts went in vain as KKR bowlers managed to restrict MI on 198/7 in 20 overs. KKR ended their six-game losing streak to complete 100 T20 wins and keep their playoffs hopes alive this season.
