On the occasion of the Seventy-Ninth anniversary of the Quit India Movement (Kranti Din), Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday said that the spirit of movement reverberated across India and energized the youth of our nation.
The 79th anniversary of the Quit India Movement, which is considered as one of the important milestones in the history of the freedom struggle of our country, is being observed on 8 August 2021. On 8 Aug 1942, Mahatma Gandhi gave a clarion call to end British rule and launched the Quit India Movement at the session of the All-India Congress Committee in Mumbai.
PM Modi paid tribute to the greats who took part in the Quit India Movement, which played a crucial role in strengthening the fight against colonialism. The Quit India Movement was an key milestone in the Indian freedom struggle. Under the leadership of Gandhi, people across India came together to uproot imperialism. On this day in 1942, Gandhi gave the clarion call of "Do or Die" to all Indians to drive away Britishers from the country.
