Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MIUD) Minister K T Rama Rao spoke on flood relief fund distribution. He said that 4.3 lakh flood affected families have been provided financial assistance of Rs 10,000. The Minister told the media that the Chief Minister had announced financial assistance of Rs 550 crore to the flood affected families in the state. He said the government had taken immediate relief measures to save people after many houses were submerged in water.
"The government has also set up special forces to deal with natural calamities. The encroachment on Nalas also led to rainwater entering the colonies and problems were caused by human errors," he said. Rs 10,000 for flood-affected families, Rs 50,000 for people who have been partially damaged and Rs 1 lakh financial assistance for houses completely damaged due to rainfall.
