Spinner Kuldeep Yadav wouldn't get the opportunity to play a single match in the historic Border Gavaskar Trophy series against Australia but he can return to the Test team from the February-March series against England. Kuldeep had played his last Test match in 2018-19 on India's last Australian round.
BCCI has posted a video on Saturday in which Ajinkya Rahane has said, "It was very difficult for you. You didn't play a single match here but your behaviour was quite good. Now we are going to India, your time will come. So keep working hard." India's bowling coach Bharat Arun has also spoken that Kuldeep will play in India. He said Kuldeep did not play in Australia because team management has adopted a strategy to choose players according to the field.
Arun said, "If he did not play, it is okay. He is working hard. He has been superb. We adopted a strategy to choose a player according to the pitch. Keep in mind, when Kuldeep gets a chance to play, he will tell you what he can do because he was batting brilliantly in the nets. In India, when we play four Test matches, he will have time." While continuing, he spoke, "Kuldeep did a great job whenever he played for India. He had a chance in the T20 match and he bowled best. Every player in this team knows that his time will come. "
