The group claims that Aamir’s Laal Singh Chaddha has offended their religious sentiments. They continued by labeling Aamir an anti-Hindu and urging people to avoid seeing his movie. They further added that they would not let the theatrical release of Laal Singh Chaddha. As per the information a demand letter was sent on their behalf to the DCP, following which they left the location.
As per the information a group named Shiv Sena Hind tried to stop the screening at PVR Cinemas in MBD Mall, Jalandhar. After this another group named Sikh Tal-Mel Committee came in support of the movie. The members of this committee reached the mall after receiving information regarding the activities of the fringe group where they also asserted that the film will not be boycotted and that they will not let anyone stop the screening of it in theatres.
Recently Aamir Khan has also opened up on the Boycott trend and he said, "Agar Maine Kisi ka Dil Dukhaaya hai Kisi cheez Se Toh Mujhe us Baat ka Dukh hai, main Kisi ka Dil nahi Dukhaana Chahta hun. Jin Jinko film Nahi Dekha hai, main us Baat ki izzat Karunga, Aur kya Keh Sakte Hain (If I have hurt someone's heart with something, I feel sad for that, I don't want to hurt anyone. Those who don't wish to see the film, I will respect their decision. What else can I say)."
Speaking of Laal Singh Chaddha, the film is an official Hindi remake of Forrest Gump and also marks the Hindi debut of Naga Chaitanya. It was released on August 11, marking the occasion of Raksha Bandhan and the upcoming Independence Day of India.
