Islamabad: Pakistan is facing problem due to the ban on trade with India. This decision of the Government of Pakistan is affecting the pockets of the common people. Pakistan is paying a higher price for importing cotton as it is not buying cheaper cotton from India. Pakistan is also facing a huge shortage of medicines and medical equipment.

In a report by Pakistani media The News last month, it was feared that due to the fall in cotton production, Pakistan may have to import expensive cotton from abroad to meet the domestic consumption needs. The report had cited a 26.54 per cent decline in production, citing data from the Pakistan Cotton Ginners Association (PCGA).

Cotton production in Pakistan has decreased this year, but in India, cotton production is higher this year than last year. According to the latest estimates of the Cotton Association of India, the production of cotton in India this year may be 3.54 million bales as compared to 312 lakh bales of cotton production in the country last year.
