New Delhi: A woman doctor studying PG at Maulana Azad Medical College in the national capital Delhi has committed suicide by taking an overdose of anaesthesia. The doctor has been identified as Athira Parvathi Menon. Athira, 24, was pursuing PG in anaesthesia. At present, the police have not recovered any suicide notes from the spot.  

Hailing from Kochi in Kerala, Athira studied MBBS from Karnataka. After this, he joined Maulana Azad College in 2020 for post-graduation. According to the report, Athira lived in a paying guest outside the college campus. The students living with her had informed the police this morning that the door of Athira's room was not opening. When the police reached the spot and broke open the door, Athira was lying unconscious inside.

Surprisingly, she had a canella on her wrist. Through which medicines are put into the body, an empty vial of anaesthesia has also been found lying near them. Police suspect that Athira had taken an overdose of anaesthesia, which led to her death. Due to the absence of a suicide note, the police are investigating every angle. Police have conducted a post-mortem of the body and are investigating the whole matter. Police have found in a preliminary investigation that Athira used to interact with a doctor while studying MBBS. The doctor was married somewhere else. Since then, Athira was under a lot of stress.
