Lucknow: In Bihar and Uttar Pradesh's Purvanchal Lalu Yadav was encountered was killed in a police encounter in Mau district in the early hours of Wednesday. Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order) Prashant Kumar has said that on getting the information, the police had besieged Lalu Yadav at around 3.30 am near Bhanvrepur in Sarai Lakhansi area of ​​Mau district. During this encounter, Yadav was injured. After which he was taken to the hospital where doctors declared him dead.

Prashant Kumar said that during the encounter, Chirayakot police station president Avinash Kumar Singh, Inspector Rajesh Prasad Yadav, sub-inspector Amit Mishra, and constable Vivek Singh were fired upon but all of them survived due to bulletproof jacket. Kumar said police have recovered a pistol, some cartridges, and bikes from the spot.

Lalu Yadav, a prize dacoit of One lakh rupees,  due to him people had a lot of terror in Bihar and Purvanchal in Uttar Pradesh. He was booked in Mau district with a total of 82 cases including the murder of RTI activist Bal Govind Singh as well as attempt to murder and a robbery of Rs 2 crore in Jaunpur and the murder of a security guard and robbing him of Rs 25 lakh.
