Patna: Rashtriya Janata Party (RJD) chief and former CM Lalu Prasad Yadav was granted bail by the Jharkhand High Court on April 17 in a fodder scam case. But even after 11 days, Lalu could not be released. He is still in judicial custody and is undergoing treatment at AIIMS. The Jharkhand State Bar Council is said to have banned lawyers from coming to court, which is also delaying Lalu's release.

The jharkhand state bar council has taken this decision due to the growing infection of corona. It is being reported that lawyers are now coming to the Jharkhand State Bar Council on May 3, only then lalu's release is also said to be possible. It may be recalled that on April 17, Justice Aparesh Kumar Singh had ruled on Lalu's bail. It was only after that decision that Lalu's lawyer Devarshi Mandal said that he would get RJD chief Lalu Yadav released through ranchi special CBI court on April 19.

But before they could do so, a meeting of the Jharkhand State Bar Council was held on April 18 and it was decided that no lawyer would come to the court for now. Then, on April 25, those restrictions were extended until May 2.
