Patna: RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav's bail plea in the fodder scam case will be heard in the Jharkhand High Court on March 4. On Wednesday, an appeal was made by Lalu Prasad Yadav, convicted in the incident, for an early hearing. The Jharkhand High Court admitted the appeal and fixed March 4 as the date of hearing.

Lalu Prasad Yadav's lawyer Prabhat Kumar has appealed to the court to grant bail on the basis of his age and health. On behalf of the advocate, it has been told in the petition that Lalu is ill, so he should be given relief. Also, he has spent half the time in jail for the punishment he has been sentenced to in this incident.
 
There was an illegal withdrawal of Rs 139.35 between 1990 and 1995 when Lalu Prasad Yadav was the CM of Doranda Treasury of Jharkhand. In the biggest fodder scam case, Lalu Prasad was sentenced to 5 years in jail and a fine of 60 lakh. The CBI special court had on February 15 last convicted him and sent him to jail. But the Rann jail administration had transferred Lalu Prasad to RIMS for better treatment as his health was not good. The court sentenced the case on February 21.
