Devotees offer prayers to mark last Monday of Sawan

Jaipur: In the month of Sawan, a large crowd of devotees of Lord Shiva thronged the Shivalayas. Apart from this, Kanwariyas from all over the country are also leaving for the Shivalayas to offer water to Lord Shiva. Apart from Rajasthan capital Jaipur, the Shiva temple has been crowded since Monday morning in other districts besides Jhunjhunu, Bikaner, Jodhpur.

In Jhalarapatan district also, on Monday, under the aegis of Jaleshwar Mahadev Mandir Samiti, a large number of Kanwariyas reached the banks of the river Chandrabhaga and took water urn. The Kawar Yatri Shobha Yatra was given a grand welcome by the citizens of the city with flowers.  During this time, Jaleshwar Mahadev's tableau and DJ's hymns were the highlights of the Shobha Yatra. The police also changed the traffic and provided security for the convenience of the Kawar yatris.

On the last Monday of Sawan, every Mahadev and Jai Sri Mahakal were chanting in the Shivalayas of Dungarpara town. On this occasion, devotees of Lord Shiva visited nearby Shivalayas and performed water on the Shivling with Panchamrit. The Gangeshwar Mahadev temple, located in the office premises of the watershed department, has been a festival of devotees since early morning. During this time special decorations were made in the Shivalayas of the city.
